If you have a problem with credit card debt, you are not alone. According to the American Banking Institute (ABI) in the first quarter of 2003 alone, 404,154 Americans, just like you, filed for personal bankruptcy. All across the country Americans are being strangled by debt amounts that are threatening their financial well being. These people are not dishonest; mostly they are well meaning, middle-class people who had every intention of paying back the debt they incurred. But things did not go as planned. Some lost their jobs to the weak, post 9/11 economy. Others incurred staggering medical bills that kept them from meeting other obligations.
